Balsamic Vinegar, Mission Fig Dark

The California sun is pleasant but warm on your skin as you feel the sea breeze touch your face. The untouched hills covered in bright orange poppies roll out towards the mountains in the distance. The walls of the mission, with their smooth stucco surfaces and curved rooflines, shade you nicely. Mission Figs were named for their home in Southern California, planted by Spanish Franciscan friars bringing Catholicism to the New World. Their juicy, pink insides are shielded by their flavorful purple skins which pop pleasantly in your mouth. Sweet, tart, and refreshing, the balsamic vinegar that bears their flavor carries with it the sun and the legacy of these religious explorers and settlers.
