About Us
There is something satisfying about being able to purchase quality grade beef that is locally grown in central Texas, pasture raised without hormones or routine antibiotics, and processed without added salt, chemicals or colorants. Hooser Custom Meats, located at 2408 Hamrock Road, Italy Texas 7665, provides just that opportunity. Opened by James and Lisa Hooser, owners of J and L Farms, Hooser Custom Meats was formed as a way to provide the same product to the public that their family enjoys.
Practices
Feeder calves chosen for Hooser Custom Meats are provided a grass–fed and grain–finished diet with continuous access to water and pasture. The remaining cattle in the cow/calf operation are pastured and fed hay, ration supplements, minerals, and creep feed for the baby calves. All of the cattle are cared for by Pedro Hernandez, Jerrod Cameron and their crew.

Hooser Custom Meats offers two product lines, both of which have Angus based genetics. The Wagyu beef is a cross between an Angus cow and a full blood Wagyu bull, (F1 Wagyu). The Hooser Reserve line is an Angus or Angus/Hereford cross. Hooser Custom Meats uses all cuts of the cow and is a whole animal operation. All meat products are processed at government inspected facilities and dry aged for 21 days or longer. Freezers are maintained and food safety standards are always met.
